I am not being transferred

This week was for sure an interesting one.  To start off we got transfer calls last night and ends up that the both of us will stay here for another six weeks.  Im really excited about this and know that we will be able to do a lot of great things.  It will also be my companions last transfer so Ill be able to help him hold out until the end and to make some miracles happen before he goes home.  Im excited too because we will get to go to the temple since its his last transfer.  This week I got really sick and everything I ate or drank I threw up so for two days we had to stay inside the house.  This isnt normal for me because Ive always been taught that you keep working unless your dying.  This was the first time that I wasnt able to get out and work for a full day during my mission.  It was pretty tough too because the whole time I wanted to get out and teach and help people.  But there wast much that I could do about it.  It made me relize how much I love my mission.  Yes some days are tough but its honestly the best time of my life.  Ive learned things and have grown so much in the gospel.  One day my mission will come to an end but because of my mission my life will be different.  Sorry I dont have any pictures or cool stories this week.  Hope that things go better and that you have a good week!

Cleaning out the baptismal font is a labor of love

We had a nother really hot but really good week.  We had a baptism this last Saturday!  First we had to clean our baptismal font which is actually just a pool.  It was pretty filthy and took us a lot of hours to do but it was worth it.  The guy we baptized has been coming to church for quite some time now and his wife is a member.  Not until these last couple of weeks has he made serious changes in his life.  We invited him to be baptized and he accepted it.  The day of his baptism he was so happy and looked like a different person.  His wife was extremley happy too.  Its cool to see how this gospel changes peoples lives.  He was a man who drank a lot and wasnt very happy.  Now he is preparing to go to the temple and one day will be able to baptize his son.  I know this gospel is true and that this church is true.  We have all the knowledge that we need to be able to return to live with our heavenly father and our families forever.

We have one more week before transfers.  Im pretty sure we will both stay here but you never know what is going to happen.  Thanks for all the support and love.

Sorry you're cold, wish I could send warmer weather your way!

As you guys are having a really cold week, we are having an extremley hot week.  I dont think I have ever sweated so much in my life this past week.  We have had a really good week though and have been working very hard.  My companion only has one more transfer left so at times hes kinda lazy but ive been helping out where I can with that.  This last week we also had interviews with the mission president which are always really good.  Our mission president is pretty old but a super funny guy.  He has a really great vision for our mission and wants the best for the missionaries.  We will be getting another new one though in July so it will be interesting to see how things go.  The past week has been full of finding a bunch of new people to teach and even several families.  We have another two weeks left in the transfer and should be seeing some baptism coming up in a few weeks here.  Since our chapel is just a house we have a set up pool on the back porch which I thought was pretty interesting.

The first picture is one that I forgot to send.  He was the ward mission leader in my last area and he reminds me exactly of Mark Browning.  Hes the dark brazillian version of Mark, His name is marcus, he likes to joke around and he even falls alseep in sacrament like mark. hahah I thought it was pretty funny.  The other picture is us on the third floor of our church.

Hope you guys stay warm and have a good week!

Happy New Year!!!

We had a good New Years here.  We stayed in our house new years eve night and there were a ton a fireworks here.  The past couple of weeks have been different with Christmas and New years but have been really good and I’ve been able to get to know the members really well here.  I went on an exchange on my Birthday and it went pretty good.  The missionary I was with served in Chicago while he was waiting for his visa plus I knew him from when I first got here in Brasil so it was pretty fun.  This week we worked a ton with less active members.  We did a bunch of visits and even a couple of members came out with us.  At the end of the week though we didn’t have any new people that would come to church with us.  We have been praying really hard and this week was fast Sunday too.  By the time sacrament started we had a total of 8 investigators at church.  They were all people that the less actives brought with them.  It was cool to see how the Lord will bless you but sometimes its after all you can do and when you have showed your faith.  This transfer is flying by and we only have another two weeks left.  These last couple of weeks will be super busy but for a missionary that's a good thing.  Thanks for everything!
