Still alot of work to do!

We had a really awesome week.  It was a little hectic and a lot of running around but everything worked out good in the end.  We were also able to go on an exchange and I was with a newer missionary and that was a pretty neat experience.  On Tuesday we had the baptism of Rubens.  We have been working with him for a couple months but his dad did not want to give him permission.  We went over there Monday night and talked with his dad and he signed it and the next day we had his baptism.  It was a miracle and turned out really good.  This Sunday we were also had the baptism of the sister of Frank that other kid that we helped out a ton.  She was super happy and prepared.  Something happened over night and a lot of the water leaked out of the pool that we use so she ended up sitting down then laying down to go all the way under the water.  She brought her mom and friends and cousins and it was really cool.  This last Sunday we had the most people at church by far.  It was really cool to see it full and everyone happy.  There is still a lot of work to do here and I really hope that I get to stay.  It makes sence that I would stay because my companion is going home but you never know what will happen with transfers.

This is going to be a good week

This week has been a good one.  We helped our friend who we baptized a few weeks back get ready for EFY.  We went over there ever night to teach him a little bit more so he would be more prepared.  He also did not own any church clothes and does not have very much money either.  I ended up giving him a shirt that was too small for me and a tie.  I bought him a pair of church shoes as well,  they were not very fancy but they were good enough and to see how happy he was was definitley worth it.  It also rained extremley hard here one of the days this week but I thought it was pretty cool.  There was literally a river in the street and it even swept away a porta potty.  This next week will be a good one for sure.  I love how much I have been learning and I am happy with the way I am working here.

Thanks for the love and support.

The story of Frank

We had a pretty awesome week here in Brasil.  We have been teaching a kid named Frank who is really cool.  He is a nephew of a recent convert and she brought him to church for the first time a couple weeks ago and he loved it.  We invited him to be baptized on the 15th and he excepted.  We talked with our Branch President and said that the 15th would be difficult because he wanted to invited frank to EFY and he would be gone.  So we went and talked with him and he told us that God already answered his prayer and he wants to get baptized as soon as possible.  That was really cool to see.  We got everything prepared and were able to have his baptism yesterday!  He brought his mom who loved it and was super happy and he was super happy as well.  He will be going to EFY here in Sao Paulo and it will be super good for him.  Just in a couple weeks he has become a really good friend of mind and I hope to see him go on a mission one day.

The other picture is of last p-day.  We went back to my first area and had dinner with a member and it was amazing.  She is a super good cook and loves the missionaries and treats them super special.  That for sure was a great time and a blessing.

I am on the mend

We had an amazing week.  I knew that would happen after the tough week last week of me being sick and not being able to work very hard.  After the trials come the blessings.  It was a great start to the transfer and I’m really happy with how hard we are working and that we are being exactly obedient.  My companion is ready to work "até o pó" which means until the dust.  Its a saying here which means you want to do everything you can and it does not matter how tired you are but that you will keep on going.  We taught a kid and his sister this week who came to church with there aunt last week.  The next visit he told us that he prayed and received an answer and wants to be baptized.  It was awesome to see that.  We also had another kid that were teaching give his testimony in front of everyone saying he knows the church is true and can’t wait to be baptized.  We have for sure seen miracles this week as well as many blessing.  I know were doing the Lords work and that he is pleased with us.  I also ran into a family from my first area on the train last week and they invited us over for dinner tonight so that will be really really fun.  It will be cool to actually be able to talk with them plus she is a super good cook.  Thanks for all the love and support!
